Small Apartment Decor Before Guests Arrive This Festive Season

They start with the far corner, By the time they get to the entryway, the effort’s run out.
Flip that order and a small apartment does more with less.
Start at the door. The first three seconds someone spends in your home happen there, not in the living room. A clean entry, a diya or small arrangement right at the threshold, does more for the overall feeling than anything placed deeper inside.
Clear one surface completely. Not decorate it, clear it. A single empty, clean surface, a console table, a shelf, gives the eye somewhere to rest, and it makes everything else in the room look more intentional by contrast.
Light one corner well instead of the whole room evenly!! A warm lamp or a few diyas in one spot creates a focal point. Even light everywhere reads as flat, not festive.
Skip anything at floor level near the entry or main walking path. Small apartments lose their sense of space fastest at ankle height, where clutter and decor pieces both compete for the same visual real estate.
And don’t decorate the whole apartment. Decorate the two or three spaces guests will actually spend time in, the entry, the seating area, maybe the dining corner. A half-decorated home where every visible spot is genuinely considered beats a fully decorated one where nothing got real attention.
